Dry Lake Campground
About
Our campground sits within the Hahns Peak/Bears Ears Ranger District of the Routt National Forest, offering a gateway to the northwest portion of the forest that stretches from the continental divide to the Wyoming border. Established as part of the National Forest System managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, we provide access to a diverse landscape of over 1,000 recreation sites. Visitors can explore our trails for mountain biking, road cycling, and general hiking, or enjoy boating and fishing in nearby lakes and streams. The area supports various activities including horseback riding, OHV trail riding, and snowmobiling, with options for both single and group picnicking. We serve as a base for experiencing the scenic views and wildlife of the region, which includes the Sierra Madre Mountain Range and the Snowy Range to the north. Managed by dedicated Forest Service employees, Dry Lake Campground offers a rustic retreat for those seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of Colorado's Western Slope.
