High Country Gems & Minerals "The Rock Shop"

High Country Gems & Minerals, known locally as The Rock Shop, has been a Glenwood Springs staple since 1971. As the second-oldest continuously operating business in town, it currently sits under the stewardship of Tammy and Louie Girardot. The shop recently completed a significant physical move to the retail space immediately west of its historic home, allowing for a major aesthetic transformation that doubled its square footage. Tammy designed the new layout to accommodate the shop’s extensive inventory of gems, minerals, and jewelry. The store’s history includes previous ownership by Matt McQueen and Patty Neuroth, the latter of whom expanded the shop’s product range and playful character. Today, High Country Gems & Minerals offers a wide variety of products in a bright, accessible space that welcomes both first-time visitors and long-time locals.
