About
Owned and operated by the City of Steamboat Springs, Howelsen Hill Ski Area serves as a historic training ground that has launched the careers of 100 Olympians who made over 150 Winter Olympic appearances. The facility has produced 22 members of the Colorado Ski Hall of Fame and 13 members of the National Ski Hall of Fame, sending more skiers to international competition than any other area in North America. Visitors access alpine and nordic skiing via season passes or daily tickets purchased at the Ticket Office. While equipment rentals are not available onsite, guests can warm up with food and beverages at The Outrun snack bar, relaxing next to the fire while viewing the slopes. Small storage lockers are available for 75 cents in quarters, and lost items are stored in the Fireplace Room or at the Ticket Office depending on value. The Nordic Center offers additional trail options accessible via the Nordic Hotline.
