Howelsen Ice Arena

Bumper cars on ice have been the signature draw at Howelsen Ice Arena since we opened our doors in Steamboat Springs. As one of the only facilities in Colorado to offer this unique combination, we share our Olympic-size rink between traditional figure skating and hockey leagues, and the chaotic fun of ice bumper boats. Our facility serves the Steamboat Springs Youth Hockey Association, Sailors High School Hockey Team, and local Figure Skating and Curling Clubs. We welcome public skaters of all ages for Stick and Puck sessions, Drop-In Hockey, and private rentals. Birthday parties, hockey tournaments, and summer camps keep the schedule full year-round. The recently remodeled interior provides a bright space for families to watch high school games or enjoy the snack bar. From learning to skate with kids' walkers to racing bumper cars or cheering on local teams, there is a place for you on the ice.
