iAM Music

Founded in 2013 by bassist Jesse Ogle and vocalist Ashley Edwards, iAM Music operates as a comprehensive music ecosystem in Durango. The organization began with Independent Artist Management, a cooperative for unsigned musicians, before expanding into a broader hub that supports both career artists and aspiring students. The space serves as a rehearsal and recording studio where professionals supplement their income by teaching and mentoring.

Private lessons form the core of their educational offering, providing one-on-one coaching tailored to individual goals and skill levels. Beyond private instruction, iAM Music runs extensive outreach programming in partnership with local schools such as Animas High School and Liberty School. These programs include accredited band coaching, free instrument rentals, and no-cost education focused on original songwriting, theory, and production. The organization hosts various events to showcase this talent, ranging from intimate songwriter nights to larger festivals like the San Juan Songwriter Fest. These events feature performances by both local and visiting professional musicians, aiming to stimulate the Durango creative economy while connecting youth with career-minded artists.
