Our man-made beach and the iconic Wibit water park draw locals and visitors to this Durango reservoir for summer days filled with SUP, kayaking, and open-water swimming. We manage the lake to provide a dedicated recreational space where guests can enjoy slides, boat ramps, and docks. The no-wake side features buoys for swimmers seeking calm waters, while a scenic path winds along the shore for those who prefer to hike or simply tan. With an admission fee of $10 per car, we offer a complete outdoor experience that balances active water sports with peaceful lakeside relaxation. Managed jointly by the City of Durango and the Bureau of Reclamation, Lake Nighthorse stands as a beloved community hub for water sports and scenic enjoyment.
