Colorado’s fourth-oldest theater, the Liberty Theatre anchors Pagosa Springs’ downtown with a legacy that predates the digital revolution. When the cost of upgrading from film to digital projection became prohibitive for many small venues, this historic landmark survived through community funding and dedicated support, emerging with a new screen and surround sound system. The venue operates primarily on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, offering a curated mix of family-friendly G and PG films starting at 6 PM, alongside PG-13, R, and NR titles at 7 PM. A Sunday matinee begins at 2 PM, with doors opening an hour prior to showtimes for concessions and seating. Weekdays provide a different rhythm, hosting interactive movie parties, comedy performances, and throwback classics that cater to local music and film enthusiasts. Beyond regular screenings, the theater serves as a flexible rental space for private events and special community gatherings. The box office opens 60 minutes before each show, and online ticket sales conclude at that same time, ensuring a smooth transition from ticketing to the big screen.
