New Castle Getaway with Grill and Mountain Views!
About
Established in 1879 by mining men wealthy from the Mary Murphy Mine, Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort sits between Buena Vista and Salida as one of Colorado’s oldest geothermal destinations. Our natural creekside pools along Chalk Creek offer odorless mineral heat that guests personalize by blending in cool mountain water. Day guests enjoy access to our pools, spa, and summer slides year-round, while overnight visitors receive two days of inclusive access for every night booked, including complimentary water fitness classes and mountain bike rentals. The resort’s history stretches back to the late 1800s when pioneers discovered the healing powers of these mineral-rich waters, which were first frequented by Native Americans. A three-story hotel built in 1879 took four years to construct but never saw a paying customer, yet the site evolved into the sanctuary it is today. Guests soak beneath the dramatic Chalk Cliffs, breathing in fresh pine and high-altitude air rather than sulfur, surrounded by the crisp mountain air of the Rocky Mountains. Lodging options range from rooms to cabins, all within a scenic walk of the natural hot spring pools. Whether seeking relaxation, healing, or adventure, visitors find a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance at this iconic destination.
