Incorporated on October 2, 1876, just two months after Colorado achieved statehood, Ouray City Administration serves the residents of the Switzerland of America. We manage the essential utilities that keep this San Juan Mountains community running, including water, sewer, trash, and recycling services. Our digital tools allow residents to pay utilities online, access public records and documents, and navigate city code and enforcement details without leaving their homes. Beyond daily operations, we oversee permits and applications, manage code enforcement, and handle reservations for city event venues. Ouray is recognized as The Outdoor Recreation Capital of Colorado, offering more than 60 activities right out your door, and we support the local culture through initiatives like the joint Ridgway and Ouray events calendar and major celebrations such as the upcoming 150th anniversary concert in Fellin Park.
