Park Elementary School

Educating students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, Park Elementary School operates as a key component of the Durango School District. The institution’s mission centers on helping children succeed cognitively, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing and challenging environment. Administrators emphasize mindful schools practices and character development, fostering a culture where students take responsibility for their actions and embrace curiosity. Marie Voss-Patterson serves as the principal, guiding the school’s focus on inclusive problem-solving and kindness. The school community, comprising students, families, and staff, shares the responsibility of creating a supportive and trusting atmosphere. High expectations are set for all learners, acknowledging that students absorb information at different rates and learn in diverse ways. The district recently updated its digital platforms to meet accessibility standards, ensuring families can easily access essential information regarding enrollment, transportation, and school schedules.
