Since 1955, The Sportsman Fly Shop has guided anglers through the San Juan Mountains of Lake City, Colorado. Peter and Mackenzie, owners who moved from Texas, run this historic shop that blends old-time fly fishing traditions with modern gear. We cater to beginners and advanced anglers alike, offering guided fishing and hiking experiences while emphasizing Leave No Trace principles and wildlife respect. Our shop carries a selection of fly fishing gear and apparel from various brands, and you can often find our mascot, Bailey the King Charles/Cocker Spaniel, greeting customers in the window. Located about 55 miles south of Gunnison on State Highway 149, we are a hidden gem for freshwater fishing and mountain air.
