The Subterrain

Our giant, ever-changing art installation anchors the space at 900 Main Ave, Suite F, where local artists own and operate a multifaceted venue in Durango. We are not just another bar; we specialize in locally made wine, cider, beer, and distilled spirits. The Subterrain serves as a dynamic event space for live music, plays, comedy, and poetry open mic nights. You can find us hosting private parties, meetings, and immersive theater performances here. Our doors open for Friday night treasure hunts and special events like the Nuages Du Desert Jazz Dance Band or the New Mexico Comedy Showcase. We book local, national, and international talent to bring you great live entertainment, including circus acts and burlesque. Every fourth Thursday, Larry hosts our Poetry Open Mic Night, welcoming all ages and abilities from 6 to 8 pm. Enjoy cocktails while you gather in a spot like no other.
