Thunder Mountain Lodge

Perched at 10,000 feet on the Grand Mesa plateau, Thunder Mountain Lodge offers a rustic retreat with cabin rentals and guided snowmobile tours through the Grand Mesa National Forest. We provide equipment for every season, including canoes, stand-up paddleboards, inflatable kayaks, and row boats for the area’s 300 lakes. Our log cabins feature full kitchens with refrigerators, stoves, and coffee makers, along with fire pits outside, making them ideal for family reunions and weddings. Even after our main lodge restaurant burned down in April 2012, our cabins remain fully equipped with private showers and toilets. Guests can choose from various layouts, including one-bedroom units sleeping up to six people or open-floor-plan cabins with futons. We are centrally located on the 800-square-mile plateau, offering easy access to cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, ATVing, and 4x4ing.
