Timber Ridge Lodge Ouray
About
Built in the 1950s as Polly's Motel & Restaurant, Timber Ridge Lodge Ouray stands as a local landmark steps from Box Canyon Falls. Brian and Julie Duckles purchased the property on Christmas Eve 2017, transforming it from a roadside stop for jeepers and adventurers into a boutique lodging experience that blends rustic charm with modern mountain style. The lodge’s 24 unique rooms cater to families, couples, and solo travelers seeking restful sleep without the mass-produced feel. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi, ample parking, and 24-hour front desk service, with direct access to snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, fly fishing, and the Ouray Hot Springs. While wheelchair accessible, upper-level rooms require climbing approximately 15 stairs as there is no elevator. The owners prioritize personalized hospitality, often helping guests plan scenic jeep adventures on Black Bear Pass or Engineer Pass and recommending trails in the Uncompahgre Wilderness. This locally owned lodge has been a familiar gathering place for decades, offering warm meals and breathtaking mountain views to those exploring the "Switzerland of America."
