About
Built in the 1950s as Polly's Motel & Restaurant, Timber Ridge Lodge stands as a historic stop for adventurers and families in Ouray. Brian and Julie Duckles purchased the property in 2017, transforming the former roadside eatery into a modern mountain lodge while preserving its deep roots in the San Juan Mountains. Situated steps from Box Canyon Falls, the lodge offers direct access to snowmobiling, Nordic skiing, fly fishing, and the Ouray Hot Springs. The accommodations blend rustic charm with contemporary design, featuring comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities tailored for restful sleep. Each room is uniquely designed to accommodate couples, families, solo travelers, and adventure seekers. Guests should note that upper-level rooms require climbing approximately 15 stairs, as there is no elevator. The owners provide personalized hospitality, often helping guests plan scenic jeep adventures on Black Bear Pass or Engineer Pass and recommending hiking trails in the Uncompahgre Wilderness. This locally owned establishment provides a warm, relaxed atmosphere for those seeking to explore the area's natural beauty.
