White Lodge Tattoo & Gallery
About
Since opening in May 2016 as Holy Iron Tattoo, this Glenwood Springs establishment has evolved into a dual-purpose space for ink and art. Founder Aften Willcuts built the shop on a foundation of safety, cleanliness, and good vibes, attracting a roster of like-minded artists over the last decade. In September 2022, Kira Knowlton took ownership, bringing modern practices and creative freedom to the western slope. Known for large-scale pieces and one-shot designs, Knowlton specializes in neotraditional, gothic, medieval, and anime subjects, often prioritizing bookings for her pre-drawn artwork. Her portfolio spans full color, monochromatic, and blackwork styles.
The gallery aspect of the business remains central to its identity, offering local artists a venue to showcase and sell their work. Tanis Martin, a fourth-generation Glenwood Springs resident who apprenticed with the crew in 2019, contributes expertise in American and Japanese Traditional styles as well as Dark Art. His preference for spooky themes complements the shop’s eclectic aesthetic. Clients can expect high-quality American and Japanese Traditional tattoos, portraits, and bio-organic ink options. The studio provides both consultations and appointments, catering to everything from detailed portraits to bold blackwork. Located in Glenwood Springs, the shop serves the broader Roaring Fork Valley with a focus on artistic collaboration and technical precision.
