About this event

Auditions · Sunday, August 23 · 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.

The Sherbino is casting for its live shadowcast production of The Rocky Horror Picture Show! This is your chance to step into the spotlight, don a wild costume, and bring this cult classic to life on stage.

What’s a Shadowcast?

A shadow cast is a troupe of live performers who act, lip-sync, and dance in front of the movie screen while the film plays. The audience joins the fun with call-backs, props, and dance numbers—creating a mash-up of film, live theater, and interactive party. Since the 1970s, shadowcasts have been the heartbeat of Rocky Horror’s midnight movie legacy, turning every performance into a raucous celebration of freedom, fun, and camp.

What to Expect if Cast

  • Rehearsals: TBD
  • October 19-21: TECH AND SHOW WEEK
  • Performances: October 22, 23, 24, and 25

No prior experience needed—just bring your enthusiasm, confidence to play big, and a willingness to be part of a high-energy team. Whether you’re a longtime fan or a first-timer, this is your chance to “do the Time Warp” in front of a live audience. Roles for All: From leads like Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Janet, and Brad, to ensemble characters, stage crew, and audience hype roles. Vibe: Big costumes, over-the-top characters, lip-sync performance, and lots of laughter.

Come ready to move, read, and show us your personality!

Audience participation & props

Part of the fun is joining in—dancing the Time Warp, shouting classic lines, and (at many shows) using safe, venue-approved props at specific moments (think newspapers in the “rain,” rubber gloves during the lab scene, lights during “There’s a Light,” etc.). We’ll share our house rules and provide a recommended prop list so everyone (and our screen!) stays happy. First-timers don’t need to know anything in advance—we’ll guide you.

Questions? Come meet the team on August 23rd at 1:00 pm and get all the details and audition!
