Nearing 5 Years of Music and Fun in Grand Junction
We're gathering in the Park (Sherwood Park) on Monday, September 21, from 6 to 7:30 PM. Everyone is invited!
The Club, where everyone has something to share, is beginning our 5th year of learning, playing and singing together, and lots of fun! Every Monday night you can find us at First Christian Church (next to Sherwood Park), 1326 N. 1st Street, G.J. There are no dues, though people can make donations toward supplies and utilities. Everyone contributes by helping each other and making everyone feel welcome.
Fall and Wintertime is a great time to begin or polish up one’s music talents, while we all spend more time indoors. Our team of talented musicians offer a great selection of new songs to learn, while encouraging and offering basic group instruction along the way. A normal Monday night begins with a favorite warm-up song, then a couple of new songs to learn together, followed by the opportunity to choose favorites to work on or refresh. The idea is to offer something which will meet many needs and interests,” according to Pastor Kevin. “It is a club where everyone can learn and everyone can help others.”
“We’ll often work on a Top Thirty list of songs, as we go along, to allow more polished results,” Arensman explains. He also encourages others who would like to come and sing along, or bring a different kind of instrument to play along. “The more the merrier! It’s all about the love of music,” he says.
By “raising up music in the Valley” Arensman and First Christian Church hope to enhance quality of life in the Valley. He calls it one of his passions. “Our congregation loves music,” Arensman says. We are given the gift of music to enjoy, but to also share with others and build stronger relationships.”
