Sweet Alma Soul Sisters -- Biography The Sweet Alma Soul Sisters (SASS) coalesced over the summer of 2010 in the high-elevation Rocky Mountain town of Alma, Colorado. They are a group of up to five musical moms’ playing an eclectic mix of soulful ballads, sassy Indie-folk covers & deeply personal originals, for a chill, feel-good vibe. All are mom’s working outside of the home, juggling the complicated dance of work & family with a bit of ‘music therapy’ to feed their souls. Their (now grown) children grew up with the music of SASS practicing in the background of their weekly play dates. The SASS sound is unique, weaving vocal harmonies with guitar, cello, mandolin & drum to create their core sound. Their net of inspiration is wide and ever expanding, and includes Head & the Heart, Emmy Lou Harris, Mumford & Sons, Wild River and Jewel, as well as pop and old Traditional influences. They are open minded, creative, and just love to ‘SASS-ify’ any music that inspires them! Over the years band members have drifted over the Continental Divide into Summit County & beyond, but SASS continues to gather and keep their unique blend of music alive.
