"The summer season in Aspen is a truly unique experience, and there's something magical about ending a mountain day at the theater," says Michael Radar, Executive Producer of Theatre Aspen, as he reflects on the upcoming season and the highly anticipated Local's Pass. This sentiment is echoed by many in the community, who eagerly await the annual sale of these exclusive passes, which unlock access to a summer of entertainment in the heart of Aspen.

As the snow melts and the days grow longer, the town begins to buzz with anticipation, and the Local's Pass is a coveted ticket to the best shows in town. This year's lineup promises to be just as exciting, with productions like "Sylvia," a comedic play about a marriage disrupted by a stray labradoodle, "A Chorus Line," a classic musical about Broadway dancers, and "Grease," a high-energy romantic comedy set in the 1950s. Each of these shows offers a distinct experience, from the sharp comedy of "Sylvia" to the beloved musical theatre of "A Chorus Line" and the full-scale summer crowd-pleaser that is "Grease."

Theatre Aspen's commitment to the community is evident in their efforts to make these productions accessible to Roaring Fork Valley residents. The Local's Pass, which goes on sale in-person on April 7 at Clark's Market, reflects Theatre Aspen's dedication to providing substantial savings on ticket prices for their summer MainStage season, a commitment they are proud to make to their community, as Producing Director Jed Bernstein notes, "Our season pass pre-sale at Clark's market has become a wonderful Aspen tradition. More importantly, the ability to offer substantial savings on ticket prices for our summer MainStage season is an important commitment that we are proud to make to our community."

The passes themselves come in three varieties: Premium, Standard, and Matinee. The Premium Pass offers the best seats in the house, as well as access to preshow receptions and the potential for a 30% discount. The Standard Pass provides a 28% discount, while the Matinee Pass unlocks a 45% savings for daytime shows. Each pass includes one ticket to each summer mainstage production and one free ticket to a Solo Flights production of the passholder's choice.

As you consider which pass to purchase, think about your summer plans and how you want to experience the theatre. Are you looking to make a night of it, with access to the best seats and preshow receptions, or are you more interested in a daytime show? Perhaps you're looking for a unique experience, like the Solo Flights production. Whatever your preference, there's a pass that's right for you.

Theatre Aspen's lineup has become a staple of the Aspen community, and it's not hard to see why. With a lineup that moves from sharp comedy to beloved musical theatre, these passes don’t just sell, they disappear, because people know it’s their chance to claim the entire season. As Radar notes, "With a lineup that moves from sharp comedy to beloved musical theatre to a full-scale summer crowd-pleaser, these passes don’t just sell, they disappear, because people know it’s their chance to claim the entire season."

If you're interested in purchasing a pass, be sure to mark your calendar for April 7, when they go on sale in-person at Clark's Market. Any remaining passes will be available online starting April 8. Single tickets will go on sale in person on May 12 and online on May 13.

As the summer season approaches, the excitement is palpable. The sound of laughter and music fills the air, and the smell of freshly cut grass wafts through the streets. It's a time of year that's full of possibility, and having access to Theatre Aspen's productions is the key to unlocking it all. Imagine yourself walking through the streets of Aspen, the sun shining down, and the sound of music drifting from the theatre. You can feel the energy of the community, the sense of anticipation and excitement that comes with the start of a new season.

Theatre Aspen's offerings are more than just a ticket to a show – they're an experience. It's a chance to be a part of the community, to experience the best of what Aspen has to offer, and to make memories that will last a lifetime. As the lights go down and the curtain goes up, you can't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe. The stage is set, the music is playing, and the show is about to begin. The smell of popcorn wafts through the air, and the sound of applause fills the theatre. It's a truly magical experience, one that you won't want to miss.
