FRUITA CITY COUNCIL SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 3, 2026
6:00 P.M.
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
The Special Meeting of the Fruita City Council was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Matthew
Breman. City Council members in attendance in person were Jeannine Purser, Amy Miller and Todd
Kumro. Councilors Rich Parrish and Aaron Hancey were in attendance virtually.
2. AGENDA ITEMS
A. CITY COUNCIL VACANCY INTERVIEWS (6:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M.)
Council started the meeting reviewing the questions to determine who would ask which question.
Starting at 6:15 p.m., Council and Mayor interviewed each of the four candidates, one at a time. Each
interview lasted for approximately 15 minutes. The candidates interviewed were Jared Prochnow, Jess
Hearns, Sam Bou'ssard, and Scott Cotton.
After the finale interview, Council and Mayor discussed ideas on what to consider when making the
recommendation and then proceeded to discuss which candidate would be the best appointee to Council
for a two-year term. Each Council member provided input on who they thought would best serve and
their reasons why. The recommendation at the end of the discussion was for Jared Prochow to be placed
on the next Council meeting agenda to be appointed to the vacant council position.
With no further business before the Council, the meeting was adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
