City of Aspen invites employers to help shape Lumberyard Affordable Housing Partnership Program
**Aspen, CO – **The city of Aspen invites local employers and business owners to participate in an interactive workshop on Monday, Aug. 17, to help shape a new Employer Partnership Program at the city's Lumberyard Affordable Housing development.
The 90-minute workshop will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pitkin County Library and is designed to gather direct input as the city develops the program’s implementation details in a way that responds to the needs and capabilities of area employers.
"The Lumberyard Employer Partnership Program is intended to help local employers connect eligible employees with affordable housing through a priority in the Lumberyard housing lottery," said Chris Everson, the city’s affordable housing senior project manager. "This workshop gives employers an opportunity to help shape how the program works in practice, so it is effective and practical for both employers and employees."
Participants will engage in facilitated discussions on key aspects of the Employer Partnership Program, including employer participation, employee eligibility, pricing and billing, program administration, and key terms.
Employers will be encouraged to share their experiences, identify operational challenges, and offer practical recommendations to help refine the program details so that it works for businesses of varying sizes and industries.
Feedback gathered during the workshop will be used to develop recommendations for Aspen City Council as the Employer Partnership Program is finalized.
Complimentary lunch will be provided. For those unable to attend or who wish to continue providing input, a recording of the workshop and a follow-up survey will be made available after the event.
Employers must RSVP by Monday, Aug. 10 using the online registration form. Organizations are asked to limit attendance to one representative, if possible.
