The City of Rifle lifted all fire restrictions effective 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, following reduced regional fire danger.

In coordination with the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and the seven fire districts in Garfield County, the City of Rifle has lifted all fire restrictions effective 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2026.

The change comes as cooler temperatures and recent moisture have helped reduce fire danger throughout the region. While fire restrictions are no longer in effect, residents and visitors are encouraged to continue practicing fire safety and using caution when enjoying outdoor fires.

The City of Rifle appreciates the community’s cooperation throughout the summer and efforts to help protect our community and surrounding areas during periods of high fire danger.

Residents are encouraged to follow official City of Rifle and Garfield County communication channels for future updates regarding fire conditions and restrictions.
