At a glance

City of Rifle crews are installing a new four-way stop and crosswalks at Birch Avenue and E 19th Street this week to improve traffic safety.

City of Rifle crews will begin installing a new four-way stop at the intersection of Birch Avenue and E. 19th Street this week as part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in the area.

In addition to the new stop signs, crews are scheduled to install thermoplastic crosswalk markings on Friday. Motorists should expect minor delays during the crosswalk installation and are encouraged to use caution, slow down, and watch for workers in the area.

The new four-way stop is being installed in response to increased traffic associated with the opening of Birch Park, continued neighborhood growth, and construction-related detours. The intersection improvements are intended to reduce vehicle speeds, improve traffic flow, and enhance pedestrian safety for residents and park visitors.

The City of Rifle appreciates the public's patience and cooperation while this work is completed.
