FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Graham Mesa Avenue Closure Scheduled for Reconstruction & Sidewalk Improvement Project
With work on E. 16th Street now complete, construction crews will transition to Graham Mesa Avenue as part of the City of Rifle's ongoing Road Reconstruction & Sidewalk Improvement Project.
Beginning Friday, June 26, Gould Construction crews will close Graham Mesa Avenue to through traffic between E. 16th Street and E. 19th Street. Crews will begin milling the existing asphalt in preparation for roadway and sidewalk improvements designed to enhance safety, accessibility, and infrastructure in the area.
The closure is expected to remain in place throughout the summer construction season. Through traffic will not be permitted within the work zone.
Detour Information
Traffic traveling to and from Graham Mesa Elementary or County Road 233 will be rerouted via Birch Avenue and E. 19th Street during construction. Motorists are encouraged to follow posted detour routes, plan ahead for potential delays, and allow additional travel time.
The City of Rifle asks all travelers to use caution, obey traffic control devices, and reduce speeds when traveling near the construction area to ensure the safety of residents, students, and construction crews.
The City apologizes for the inconvenience and appreciates the public's patience as these improvements are completed.
