Fourth annual Mactoberfest will take place on Sept. 12, 2026

Aspen, CO – The city of Aspen invites community members to attend the fourth annual Mactoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Restaurant Row, East Hopkins Ave., between Monarch St. and Mill St.

This free event will feature the ultimate mac and cheese showdown, where local participants compete to create the best macaroni and cheese. The event will also feature live music and beer for sale by Aspen’s Mother Puckers women’s hockey team.

This year, participants will compete for the Crowd Favorite and the Judges’ Favorite titles. Attendees can sample dishes and vote anonymously for their favorite macaroni and cheese. The competitor with the most votes wins Crowd Favorite. A panel of judges will crown the Judges’ Favorite. This year, the panel of judges includes:

  • Laura Werlin, Mactoberfest veteran and cheese connoisseur (aka “The Cheese Lady”).

  • Chef Barclay Dodge, owner and executive chef of BOSQ, an Aspen Michelin-starred restaurant.

“Mactoberfest has proven to be a highly anticipated community event that bookends another summer season” said Andy Curtis, special events assistant marketing coordinator. “We hope this year’s event will remain a highlight for our locals and visitors alike. The Aspen Special Events team prioritizes creating memorable events that bring the community together and we anticipate that this year’s Mactoberfest will be another example of this.”
