This 4WD road connector links Coyote Cutoff to Coyote Ridge near Montrose, Colorado. It serves as a short link in the Western Slope trail network, measuring approximately 0.7 to 0.9 miles with an elevation around 5,800 feet. The route is classified as moderate difficulty and is suitable for mountain biking and 4WD vehicles. Riders access the connector by parking at the Rim Road or Tabeguache Trailhead area near Dry Creek Canyon. After passing through a gate, the 4WD road leads to the Coyote Cutoff singletrack entrance. The trail descends through switchbacks and rocky sections before dropping onto this 4WD road. From there, riders can follow the road to Coyote Ridge for a downhill return toward the Tabeguache Trail. The route is open from April through October, though conditions can vary with spring runoff and summer storms. Parking is available at the trailhead, and pets are permitted on the route.
