Amber's Cactus Cutoff is a short, 0.2-mile connector trail located near Paonia, Colorado, on the Western Slope. It branches off the Herfendoodle trail right after the bridge at the trail bottom, before the Bang Zoom junction, serving as a singletrack exit to skip part of the lower loops. The trail sits at an elevation of approximately 5,681 to 5,938 feet with a modest elevation gain of about 39.4 feet. It is rated as moderate difficulty. The route is most active in spring when the namesake Claretcup cactus blooms alongside the path. Parking is available at the trailhead.
