About

The Bear Creek Falls Trail is a moderate mountain biking route in Telluride, Colorado, located on the Western Slope. The trail spans 2.4 to 2.5 miles with an elevation of approximately 8,789 feet. It is accessed from South Pine Street, which transitions into a dirt road leading south through the 325-acre Bear Creek Preserve. The route is an old 4x4 road that offers a constant uphill grade over loose rocks with few flat areas. The trail is well-traveled by hikers, bikers, and horseback riders, though it sees fewer mountain bikers due to the steady climb. The trail leads to an 80-foot waterfall and passes through aspen and pine groves. Parking is available near the trailhead, and pets are allowed. The typical season for riding is April through October, depending on snowmelt.
