About
Big Blocky Face variation is a trad climbing route located on the Grand Mesa near Grand Junction, Colorado. The route serves as an alternative ending to the main Big Blocky line, offering a sporty departure from the traditional crack climbing. Climbers start at the same base as Big Blocky, then break right after stepping into the crack above a detached block to access a bolted face. The climb involves ascending from fists to thin hands before clipping two bolts to reach the chains. The route is approximately 50 feet long. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. The area is accessible year-round, though winter conditions may require additional precautions.
