About
Bighorn is a 45-foot (14 m) 5.9 YDS trad route located on Devil's Kitchen, a free-standing Wingate sandstone landform in No Thoroughfare Canyon near Grand Junction, Colorado. The route ascends an obvious crack on the east-facing side of the landform. Climbers traverse from fingers to hands until the crack widens into an offwidth, then proceed to the summit. The climb is described as short and slightly dirty. Access requires parking at the Devil's Kitchen Trailhead, walking approximately 200 yards south from the landform to a group of Windgate towers, and identifying the specific east-facing tower. The area is pet friendly and has on-site parking. Elevation is listed as 4,589 feet in the database, though Mountain Project lists the area elevation at 5,238 feet.
