Blackbeard’s Gold is a sport climbing area located near Telluride, Colorado, on the Western Slope. The site sits at an elevation of 5,285 feet and features two pitches totaling approximately 145 feet. The route is classified as moderate difficulty, making it suitable for climbers with intermediate skills. The climb begins with a short first pitch of 5.6 grade, secured by three bolts, leading to a large ledge with an anchor. The second pitch ascends an 18-degree overhanging wall in a corner, protected by eight bolts. The total ascent typically takes around four hours. Access is subject to restrictions because the land is privately owned by Idarado Mine, which maintains the access road. Climbers must respect private property boundaries and keep a low profile to ensure continued use of the route. The area is accessible year-round, from January through December, and offers parking nearby. Pets are allowed on the site. The route was first free climbed in 2018 by Paul Pierce and Patricio, following bolting work completed by Bruce Eriksen and Patricio in 2015. The location is situated to the left of the Shaggy Donkey route, which is rated 5.12a.
