About
Bookcliff Campground is the primary camping facility within Highline Lake State Park, located in Loma, Colorado. It serves as a base for accessing Highline Lake, which supports swimming, fishing, and small watercraft. The campground features a mix of back-in and pull-through sites, accommodating RVs up to 45 feet with full hookups (electric, water, sewer). It also includes walk-in tent sites and 30-plus sites in a main loop. Amenities include flush restrooms with hot showers (quarters required), laundry facilities, picnic tables, grills, and fire rings. Most sites offer sun and shade, though newer sections may lack tree cover. The site is pet-friendly for leashed dogs and service animals. Reservations are required and can be made via cpwshop.com. The campground operates year-round, though summer is peak season due to lake activity and heat. Fire restrictions apply seasonally. The surrounding area consists of high desert terrain with hiking and mountain biking trails.
