About
Breaking Bread is a bouldering spot located in the Hell Hole area, just southeast of Cathedral Boulder near Montrose, Colorado. The site sits at an elevation of approximately 5,874 feet within a drainage surrounded by brush. The rock quality is described as sandy and soft, which some climbers consider bad but remains worth visiting for its problems. The route begins on small crimps and poor foot holds to the right of a formation called Dust To Dust, then heads up and left before finishing on Spanish Inquisition. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. The area offers year-round access, with climbing possible from January through December. While the specific route difficulty is moderate, the sandy nature of the rock requires attention to foot placement.
