About
The Buzzard Gulch Loop is a moderate mountain biking trail located just west of Montrose, Colorado. The trail system consists of singletrack and doubletrack routes improved by the BLM between 2012 and 2013. The terrain features classic canyon country characteristics with alternating rocky and sandy surfaces. Elevations range from 6,200 to 6,800 feet. The route is not highly technical but offers a solid workout on singletrack close to town. Riders typically climb the east side trails and descend the west side, which provides fun and flowy sections. Sparse pinyon, juniper, and big sagebrush offer limited shade. The trail is accessible from April through October. Parking is available at the Spring Canyon Trailhead. Pets are allowed. Riders should avoid riding when the trail is muddy and wear orange during hunting season.
