Camp Hale Memorial Campground is a U.S. Forest Service site in White River National Forest, located about 15 miles south of Minturn, Colorado. The campground sits in a wide, flat valley sparsely forested with lodgepole pines at an elevation of 9,200 feet. It offers 15 to 21 standard campsites suitable for tents, trailers, and RVs up to 40 feet. The site is historic, serving as the training ground for the 10th Mountain Division during World War II, with remaining foundations and interpretive signs along U.S. Route 24. Facilities include picnic tables, campfire rings, and vault toilets. Drinking water and electrical hookups are not available, so visitors must bring their own water. Access is via gravel roads. The Colorado Trail crosses within walking distance, and the Eagle River headwaters are nearby for fishing. The campground typically operates from late June through September, though some sources indicate May through September availability. Pets are allowed.
