About
Candee Connection is a rock climbing area in Rifle Mountain Park, located near Rifle on the Western Slope of Colorado. The site features a specific 50-foot (15-meter) sport climb with a difficult rating, originally established by John Dunn in the 1990s. The route is rated 5.12d and consists of bolts, requiring climbers to bring their own protection gear such as draws. The climb begins with powerful low moves and transitions into technical sequences on limestone, which is described as some of the best rock in the canyon. The elevation is 5,887 feet. Climbers must purchase a daily or season entrance pass to access the park and are required to park in designated areas. The site is open year-round, from January to December, and allows pets. The route is considered a classic that has not succumbed to typical limestone polish.
