The Cement Mountain Trail #553 is a 6.6-mile point-to-point hike in the Gunnison National Forest, beginning near Gunnison and ending near Crested Butte. The trail starts at the end of Forest Service Road #813.A2, accessed via Jacks Cabin Cutoff Road. It follows Roaring Judy Creek uphill to a saddle between Cement Mountain and East Cement Mountain, then descends briefly before traversing to intersect with the Rosebud Trail. The route offers alpine views and includes smooth, rooty, and rocky sections with steep climbs. Elevation ranges from 10,465 to 11,600 feet. The trail is open for hiking, biking, and horses, with motorcycles permitted from mid-June through late September. Parking is available at the trailhead. Note that there is visible motorcycle damage on the downhill section toward Roaring Judy Trail #552.
