The Chief Ouray Gun Club is a non-profit, self-service shooting range located near Ridgway, Colorado, at an elevation of 7,152 feet. Established in 1955, though shooting sports have existed in the county since the early 1900s, the facility is maintained by volunteer members. The range features numbered lanes for firearms and lettered lanes for archery, accommodating rifles, shotguns, handguns, and archery equipment. Specific range designations include short, middle, and long ranges, with the rifle range situated at the top of the hill. The club is open year-round, with operating hours adjusted for Daylight Savings Time (9:00 am to 7:00 pm) and Mountain Standard Time (9:00 am to 5:00 pm). Access requires a gate code, which changes annually on April 1st. Parking is available on-site, and the facility is pet-friendly. Membership costs $75 per year for individuals and families, with discounts available for active-duty military, veterans, and law enforcement. The club is an NRA member and supports local law enforcement agencies through discounted training lanes.
