Colgate is a sport climbing route located in the Dry Creek Crag area, approximately 15 miles west of Montrose on the Colorado Western Slope. The route is rated 5.11c in the Yosemite Decimal System and stands roughly 50 feet high. It is situated on the left side of Dry Creek Crag, characterized by sandstone cliffs that range from 30 to 50 feet in height. The climb begins with steep terrain and features a distinct crux involving a small crack within a bulge. After navigating the crux, climbers encounter slabbier terrain before reaching the anchors. The area offers on-site parking and allows pets. Access is via a 4WD road that leads to the canyon rim, with specific directional forks guiding visitors to the climbing zone. The route is suitable for climbers seeking a challenging but manageable sport climb.
