Gritstone Arete is a sport climbing route located at Dry Creek Crag, approximately 14 miles west of Montrose on the Uncompahgre Plateau. The route is a 40-foot single-pitch climb rated 5.11a. It features balancy movement on a slightly less-than-vertical face, situated just left of a large chimney at the left end of the 'brown wall.' The climb is protected by three bolts leading to a double bolt anchor. Parking is available at the site, and pets are permitted. The elevation is listed as 5,954 feet in database records, though some sources cite 5,077 feet. Access is year-round, though winter conditions may include snow and ice.
