About
Crag Crest Campground sits on the Grand Mesa above Eggleston Lake at an elevation of 10,300 feet. The site features 11 campsites surrounded by spruce trees, with a few sites offering lake views. Access is via Forest Road 121 off 58.5 Road near Collbran. The road surface is gravel, and the entrance can be steep with loose rocks, requiring caution for smaller vehicles or campers. The campground is dry, meaning no potable water is provided on-site; campers should bring water or collect from the nearby creek. Mosquitoes are plentiful, so repellent is necessary. Sites 5 and 6 are tent-only with no turnaround space. Maximum vehicle spur length is 27 feet. Amenities include vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings. The area is suitable for fishing and non-motorized boating on Eggleston Lake. Camping is first-come, first-served.
