About

The Magnificent Nardo Polo is a rock climbing area on Grand Mesa, located in Western Colorado near Grand Junction. The site sits at an elevation of 10,499 feet and features moderate difficulty routes. The climbing terrain consists of hard volcanic basalt, which is often fractured but includes steep walls with good rock quality. The area offers a variety of sectors, including Land's End, Paleosol Wall, Kannah Creek Wall, Beyond Civilization Wall, Misspent Youth Wall, Kaleidoscope Wall, Flowing Park, The Prow, and Bionut Wall. Routes here are primarily sport climbs with a difficulty rating of 5.9, though other grades from 5.7 to 5.10 are present. Climbers can access the site year-round, from January through December. Parking is available at the location, and pets are permitted on the trails and crag. The area is accessible via US Highway 50, heading past Whitewater to Kannah Creek Road, leading to the Land's End Area. The basalt formations are remnants of large volcanic flow events that deposited layers up to 70 feet thick.
