The Crested Butte Nordic Center is a cross-country skiing facility located in downtown Crested Butte, Colorado, at an elevation of 8,885 feet. It serves as a central hub for Nordic skiing in the Gunnison Valley, offering approximately 50 to 55 kilometers of groomed trails suitable for both classic and skate skiing. The trail system winds through aspen groves, pine forests, and the outskirts of the Victorian mining town. The center operates from November through April, with trails typically snow-covered during this period. Skiers can expect to spend about eight hours exploring the routes, which range from gentle loops near town to backcountry connections. The facility provides rentals for skis, snowshoes, and ice skates, along with trail passes available for purchase on-site. A day pass grants access to the full network of groomed trails. The center also offers private lessons and guided tours, with specific pricing structures for adults, seniors, and youth. Parking is available, and the location is accessible via free shuttle stops near 2nd Street and Whiterock Avenue. Dogs are permitted on some trails but are excluded from the main groomed network. The moderate difficulty level makes it accessible for skiers with some experience, while the high altitude requires acclimatization.
