Death Metal Camel is a rock climbing area on Grand Mesa, located in the Land's End Wall section near Grand Junction, Colorado. The site sits at an elevation of approximately 10,000 feet (3,048 meters), though specific route data lists the crag elevation at 7,089 feet. The climbing is classified as difficult, featuring trad routes that range from 5.9 to 5.12. The rock is volcanic basalt, which is noted for being highly fractured, though specific flow events have created steep, featured walls with good quality. The wall faces west, meaning it receives morning shade and afternoon sun. Climbers should be aware of afternoon updrafts from the valley that can create gusty winds. Access is via Kannah Creek Road; drivers heading south from Grand Junction on US Highway 50 turn east onto Kannah Creek Road and follow signs to Land's End for about 18 miles. Parking is available near a patch of aspen trees at the top of the mountain. Toilets are available at the Land's End Observatory, located roughly 0.5 mile north of the crag. The area is pet-friendly. A critical detail for current access is the CriticalGold Mountain Fire, which has issued evacuation orders for GO zones in the area.
