Dry Creek Road

Dry Creek Road is a hiking route in the Plateau Division of the Uncompahgre National Forest, located near Montrose, Colorado. The trail begins off Forest Road #524, accessible via the Divide Road approximately 8.5 miles from Townsend and Main. The route travels through forest and descends into the Dry Creek drainage, crossing the creek at a junction with the Dry Creek Spur trail before ascending to a northern junction with the Buck trail and Forest Road #560. The trail is described as moderate in difficulty, though parts of the descent are rocky and steep. Evidence suggests the trail is multi-use, with mountain bikers present, particularly on summer weekends. Parking is available on both sides of FR #524 near the Divide Road, though hikers must account for the distance from the road to the actual trailhead. Wildlife such as deer and elk are present. The trail is accessible year-round.
