About
Ewok Village is a 5.2-mile multi-use trail on the west side of Dry Creek Canyon near Montrose, Colorado. The route begins at the south end of the Tabeguache Trail Dry Creek Section, marked by a Carsonite BLM sign and a singletrack gate. The trail descends into a dry wash before climbing a steep, loose dirt surface along the upper bench of the canyon. It features two or three moderately rugged sections with short rocky segments. The trail ends by climbing through badlands characterized by dark boulders, known as Ewok Village, before descending to intersect with the Piney Creek Trail. The trail is managed by the BLM Uncompahgre Field Office and allows hiking, biking, horses, and motorcycles. The surface is dirt, and the elevation ranges from 5,802 to 6,705 feet with approximately 904 feet of gain. Parking is available at the trailhead.
