Five Card Draw is a sport climbing route located in the Goldrush area of Silverton, Colorado. The climb takes place on a broad granite slab at an elevation of approximately 9,600 feet. It consists of three pitches, each roughly 30 meters long, totaling about 300 feet of vertical gain. The route is rated moderate, typically around 5.9, and suits climbers comfortable with sustained slab movement. The approach involves walking through rugged terrain north of Silverton, gaining about 300 feet in elevation. Parking is available near the trailhead. The site is pet friendly and allows dogs on leashes or off-leash depending on specific area rules. Climbers should bring a 60-meter rope for rappelling the entire route. The slab features twelve bolts and anchors, but the second pitch includes a notable runout section where placing a small cam or nut is recommended. Helmet use is advised due to rockfall from the adjacent Silver Stage route, which lies to the east. The best climbing window extends from late spring through fall, with mid-morning to mid-afternoon offering optimal sun exposure on the slab. Water sources are available in the surrounding valleys, and climbers should carry sufficient water for the six-hour typical duration. The rock type is granite, providing steady footwork opportunities.
