Genesis is a sport climbing route located in Rifle Mountain Park, near Rifle, Colorado. The route is an 80-foot limestone climb with a difficulty rating of difficult. It is situated on a steep wall, featuring out jugs leading to a crux that pulls over a lip. Climbers then move to a rest below the upper face before traversing under the face to a second crux. The final section involves climbing an exposed face to the anchors. The route is protected by bolts and fixed draws. Access is available via parking facilities in the park. The area allows pets. The climbing season extends year-round, though the area is noted to be fairly crowded on weekends from May through September. The rock type is limestone, specifically the Leadville formation, which provides large, flat holds, pockets, crimps, and pinches. The route was first ascended by Jeremy Hensel, Josh Gilger, and Cory Case.
