The trail is a 2.4-mile round trip with approximately 1,200 feet of elevation gain, reaching a high point of 7,323 feet. The hike is rated moderate to challenging due to its steep and rocky terrain, taking most hikers about three hours to complete. The trail features turquoise travertine waters and multiple waterfalls, including Bridal Veil Falls and Spouting Rock. Access requires a timed permit for parking or shuttle use, and reservations are mandatory year-round due to the fragile ecosystem. Dogs are not permitted on the trail. The best hiking seasons are spring, summer, and fall, with September through November offering stable weather before winter closures. The trailhead is situated in Glenwood Canyon, and visitors should plan for early starts to avoid afternoon thunderstorms and secure permits in advance as slots sell out quickly.
